NEW ULM — A New Ulm couple has reported sighting a cougar on their property. Sonny Maurer and Kami Johnson told KEYC-TV on Saturday they heard a roar near their lakeside home near Lost Dog & Fox Hunters Park. They saw a large tan animal when they searched with a flashlight. They placed trail cam and in a few days had photos of a cougar walking down their trail.

Maurer and Johnson notified the DNR, who said the animals are passing through the area. The couple wants to warn families who may be using Lost Dog & Fox Hunters Park to be cautious.
