Buffalo Lake man’s body found

HECTOR — The Renville County Sheriff’s office has recovered the body of a man believed to be Adam Michael Rein, 24, of Hector, who had been missing since late July 3. The body was found at about 12:12 p.m. on Saturday in a drainage ditch about a mile downstream from Rein’s car, which had been found submerged on Thursday.

Rein had been reported missing on Thursday, July 5, at approximately 6:07 p.m. to the Buffalo Lake Police Department. Rein had last been seen leaving an establishment in Hector, MN on July 3, at approximately 11 p.m.

The Renville County Sheriff’s office had originally reported Rein was last seen on July 2.

The body has been sent to the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy and identity confirmation. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted on Saturday by a local aviator as well as North Star Search and Rescue, a non-profit Minnesota group that handles tracking and cadaver dogs. The Renville County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation.
