NEW ULM — The New Ulm Area Chamber of Commerce Willkommen Committee attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Sewing Seeds Quilting Company Thursday morning.

Sewing Seeds Quilt Company is located at 1417 S. State St. and has been part of the New Ulm community for five years. The business began an expansion over the last year which included a new front entrance and rear ramp entrance for wheelchair accessibility.

The business is co-owned by Jackie Forst, Ann Wendinger and Cindy Wendinger. The three owners expressed thanks for the overwhelming response and support from the community.

“We never expected to grow like this,” co-owner Ann Wendinger said.

The decision to make renovations was due to the deterioration of their previous ramp entrance. The business could have relocated to a different building, but they chose to stay on South State Street because they like their location and their neighbors.

The renovation and addition has added space to the shop and allowed for additional classroom space to teach the next generation of quilters.
