NEW ULM — A 76-year-old Springfield man faces two 2nd-degree felony criminal sexual conduct charges involving a child.

Charges were filed against Delster J. Keene, 220 Winona St., Springfield in Brown County District Court June 7.

He allegedly had sexual contact with a child between April and November 2017 in Springfield.

Springfield Police received a report June 1 from Brown County Human Services of a possible sexual assault of a child.

Police observed a video and audio interview with the child and an interviewer on June 5. Towards the end of the interview, the child said Keene is “rude” because he touched her privates. In addition, the child said Keene “makes out with her.”

Police went to Keene’s Springfield address and told him they wanted to ask him some questions at the Springfield Police Department. Keene was taken to the police department, read a Miranda Warning and signed a waiver.

Keene denied touching the child inappropriately.
