Farmward, AgQuest give to local food shelves: Farmward Cooperative and AgQuest Financial of Morgan, with matching funds from the Land O’Lakes Foundation, has made a donation to the We Care Project. The donation, totaling $1,000, was made in an effort to help sustain rural communities. From left are Judy Augustin – Farmward Grain Accountant, Jan Schwanke – Springfield Area Food Shelf Director, Roger Vaske – Farmward Southern Grain ManagerFarmward and AgQuest presented checks to several area food shelves in an effort to help the communities it serves. The food shelves included in this effort were: Springfield Area Food Shelf, Redwood Area Food Shelf, We Care Food Project in Morgan, and Renville County Food Shelf. Each food shelf received a $500 donation from Farmward and AgQuest, along with a $500 matching funds donation from the Land O’Lakes Foundation, bringing the total contribution to $4,000.
Attitude of Gratitude: The New Ulm Public Middle School students had a donation collection for varies charities in Brown County as a way of showing their Attitude of Gratitude to the community for all the support shown to us. Money and items were donated to the following: Southern Minnesota Crisis Nursery/Ivy House, Brown County Food Shelf, Brown County Humane Society, Forever Home-Sanctuary for Animals. FCCLA Donation: The New Ulm FCCLA students organized a collection at the Middle School and High School to collect money for Santa’s Closet. The High School students collected $2,804.73 and the Middle school collected $569.95. The students used the money to purchase presents Friday December 15th and delivered them to the SERTOMA Club. St. Paul’s Donation: Members of St. Paul’s Lutheran School 6th grade boys basketball team delivered gifts to the Southern MN Crisis Nursery “Ivy House” recently.
