Minnesota River recedes

The Minnesota River receded enough this week so the lower level of Minnecon Park is now open again. Picnic tables are once again on dry land. New Ulm Park and Recreation Department Director Tom Schmitz reported the Minnecon Park water access site and boat ramp reopened. He added that Minnesota River water levels and flow rates are still very high, and he advised river users to exercise caution when on or neat the water, obey all laws and wear a U.S. Coast Guard approved personal flotation device (PFD).
