ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

JOHNSON PARK 2019 IMPROVEMENTS

NEW ULM, MINNESOTA

Sealed Prime General Contract bids for Johnson Park 2019 Improvements will be received by the Owner at the office of the Owner, c/o Finance Director, City Hall, 100 North Broadway, New Ulm, MN 56073 by mail or personal delivery until Thursday, April 25, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at which date and time the bids will be opened and read aloud in City Hall.

A prebid conference will be held Thursday, April 11, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the location of the Work, 500 North German Street, New Ulm, MN 56073.

Project Scope: Selective demolition, renovations, and construction related to the improvement Work indicated in the drawings and specifications.

Bidders shall submit their proposal on the forms provided. Proposal shall be filled in clearly and correctly with ink or other permanent format. Proposal shall be signed in ink by the individual, members of the partnership, or by one or more officers of the corporation making the proposal.

Bidding Documents may be obtained from the office of ISG at 115 East Hickory Street, Suite 300, Mankato, Minnesota 56001 for a non-refundable fee of $185.00 each. For Documents that must be mailed, the total plan fee will be $200.00 each, shipping and handling included. When requesting mailed documents, please include your address, phone number, fax number, and e-mail address. Make checks payable to ISG.

Drawings, specifications, and other Bidding Documents may also be obtained online at www.questcdn.com. If you do not already have a free membership, you may sign up for one to gain access to the documents. The QuestCDN eBidDoc number is 6236646. There will be a $25.00 non-refundable downloading fee to access a pdf copy of the documents online.

Documents are viewable at both www.questcdn.com and www.is-grp.com free of charge.

All bids shall be sealed in an opaque envelope upon which shall be plainly marked “BID ON JOHNSON PARK 2019 IMPROVEMENTS – NEW ULM, MINNESOTA” and the name of the bidder. If a bid is to be mailed, the bid envelope shall be sealed in a regular mailing envelope. FAX and E-mail Bids will not be accepted. The Owner reserves the right to hold and consider the bids for 30 days after the date of the bid opening. Bids shall be accompanied by a cashiers check, bidder’s bond, or certified check payable to CITY OF NEW ULM, MINNESOTA for not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of such bid including add-alternates. A bidder’s bond shall include certified copy of the power of attorney.

The right to waive any informality in any bid and reject any or all bids is reserved to the Owner.

Sealed bids may be delivered to the Office of the Finance Director, Municipal Building, located at 100 North Broadway, New Ulm, Minnesota 56073 prior to the 10:00 A.M. bid opening on TUESDAY, the 30th day of APRIL, 2019. The City will publicly open and read all bids received by the Finance Director immediately thereafter for the furnishing of all labor, tools, equipment, materials and every other article or thing necessary for the complete construction of the following improvement, to-wit:

2019 UTILITY, STREET AND ALLEY IMPROVEMENTS – GROUP I

Work includes improvements to municipal utilities, streets, alleys, and sidewalks at various locations within the City limits of New Ulm, Minnesota.

All bids must be sealed and marked “2019 UTILITY, STREET AND ALLEY IMPROVEMENTS – GROUP I” and each and every proposal must be accompanied by a cash deposit, cashier’s check, bid bond or certified check for not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of such bid, payable to the City, to be forfeited to the City in case the successful bidder fails to enter into contract and to furnish satisfactory bond within ten (10) days after acceptance of such bid. The bid will remain subject to acceptance for 45 days after the day of bid opening. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids.

The plans and specifications prepared by the City Engineer are on file and may be examined at the City Engineer’s Office. Complete digital project plans and specifications are available at www.newulmmn.gov or www.questcdn.com. You may download the digital plan documents for $30.00 by inputting Quest project #6067916 on the website’s Project Search page. An optional paper set of the plans and specifications may be obtained at the Office of the City Engineer, 100 North Broadway, New Ulm, Minnesota 56073. A non-refundable payment of $100.00, which includes applicable sales tax and shipping, will be required for each paper set of plans and specifications issued.

ORDER AND NOTICE OF HEARING ON PETITION FOR FORMAL PROBATE OF WILL AND APPOINTMENT OF PERSONAL REPRESENTATIVE AND NOTICE TO CREDITORS

It is Ordered and Notice is given that on the 13th day of May, 2019, at 9:00 o’clock a.m., a hearing will be held in this Court at the Brown County Court House, 14 South State Street, New Ulm, MN 56073, for the formal probate of an instrument purporting to be the Will of the Decedent, dated January 28, 1992, and for the appointment of Harold John Apitz, Jr., whose address is 11 Bishop Lucker Lane, New Ulm, MN 56073 and Lisa Margaret Apitz, whose address is 104 Jaybee Lane, Mankato, MN 56001 as co-personal representatives of the Estate of the above-named decedent in an unsupervised administration.

Any objections to the petition must be filed with the Court prior to or raised at the hearing. If proper, and no objections are filed or raised, the Co-Personal Representatives will be appointed with full power to administer the Estate including the power to collect all assets, to pay all legal debts, claims, taxes and expenses, to sell real and personal property, and to do all necessary acts for the Estate.

Notice is also given that, subject to Minn. Stat. 524.3-801, all creditors having claims against said Estate are required to present the claims to the Personal Representative or to the Court Administrator within four (4) months after the date of this Notice or the claims will be barred.
