Brown County District Court

• Two gross misdemeanor 3rd-degree DWI charges were filed Feb. 3, 2023 against Joseph W. Bedner, 30, 26574 500th Avenue, Comfrey. According to court documents, Springfield Police officer Micka was dispatched to a one-vehicle crash on Rock Street (Highway 14) near CR 5 at 1:06 a.m. Nov. 18, 2022. A vehicle was in the north ditch.

Bedner was identified at the crash site and had watery, large eye pupils. An HGN test showed lack of smooth pursuit and Bedner had trouble holding his head still. He was transported to Sleepy Eye Medical Center. A blood sample was obtained at the medical center after a search warrant was obtained. Test results from the Minnesota BCA showed an ethyl alcohol concentration of 0.212 +/- 0.011 grams per 100 milliliters of blood.
