Court Proceedings

Brown County

District Court

• Gross misdemeanor and misdemeanor failure to stop for school bus charges were filed Nov. 15, 2021 against Ronald A. Stueber, 64, 1408 11th St. N., New Ulm.

According to court documents, New Ulm Police talked with a New Ulm Bus Lines driver on Oct. 18, 2021 who said he was driving a school bus southbound on Payne St. S. and stopped to drop off children at 17th Street S. and Payne, came to a complete stop, had his stop arm deployed, emergency lights on and students were getting off the bus when a violation happened.

The driver said he saw a white 2015 Doge Ram pickup turn north from 18th St. S., and drive past the bus’s lowered stop arm, stopped at the rear bumper of the bus, backed up, and stopped at the driver’s side window, apologized for driving past the stop sign and drove off.

The bus driver described the driver as an older white man with short white/grey hair.

Police ran the vehicle license plate that determined the vehicle’s owner is Ronald A. Stueber. He admitted driving past the lowered stop arm and said he “must have been daydreaming.”
