A 44-year-old Cobden man who admitted to drinking six to eight shots Sunday night that later provided a preliminary breath test that provided a .171 blood alcohol content, according to court documents.

A felony charge of threats of violence and misdemeanor domestic assault were filed in Brown County District Court Monday against Philiip R. Raymond, 120 Second St., Cobden. A bail hearing was set for 11:30 a.m. March 23.

According to the complaint, Brown County dispatch got a 911 hang-up call from a woman at 12:13 a.m. March 22. Dispatch returned the call and talked with a woman who said she was having problems with her boyfriend, who officers knew from previous calls to be Raymond.

Brown County Deputy Justin Bauer and Sgt. Derek Shaw responded to the call at 140 Second St., Cobden.

The woman said Raymond had physically assaulted her, had threatened to assault her again, and had assaulted her on previous occasions.

Raymond denied the accusations, but was arrested.
