Brown County District Court

• Sheila A. Apitz, 35, 2526 S. Bridge St., New Ulm, was charged with two counts of gross misdemeanor 2nd-degree DWI Monday. According to the complaint, New Ulm Police were on patrol at 1:22 a.m. July 6 when they saw a vehicle driving south through the intersection of 3rd South and Minnesota Street that drifted over the middle part of the road and into the wrong traffic lane of Minnesota Street.

Police stopped the vehicle that drove over the curb and detected an alcoholic beverage odor coming from Apitz who admitted drinking and showed intoxication clues. She failed field sobriety tests and a preliminary breath test. She was arrested for DUI.

Apitz provided a breath sample for analysis that showed an alcohol concentration of .26 grams per 210 liters of breath. Her driving record indicated a qualified, prior impaired driving incident on May 7, 2012.
