Court Proceedings
Brown County District Court
• Scott S. Pieper, 61, 108 Blessum St. W., Hanska, was charged with felony 1st-degree damage to property Aug. 31. According to court documents, a Brown County Sheriff’s Office deputy was notified of a parking complaint at 108 Blessum St. W. in Hanska at 8:35 a.m. July 6. The property owner, Pieper, said a vehicle that didn’t belong to him was blocking his exit. The vehicle was later moved from Pieper’s property to the street.
A victim called the sheriff’s office at 11:16 p.m. and said his vehicle was vandalized while parked on Pieper’s property. The victim said the sunroof was broken out and there were dents from a round object and broken mirrors.
A deputy talked to Pieper who said he damaged it because it wasn’t moved and that because it was on private property, the sheriff’s office couldn’t do anything. In addition, he said a tree branch damaged the vehicle’s sunroof when it fell, he didn’t know about the mirrors and denied removing the vehicle’s license plates.
Vehicle repair costs were estimated at $7,379.78.
