Court Proceedings

Brown County

District Court

• Shun D. Brown, 40, 615 German St. N., New Ulm, was charged with felony threats of violence June 19. According to court documents, New Ulm Police were dispatched to 615 N. German St. at 11:35 a.m., June 16 for a reported physical disturbance. At the residence, police noticed Brown and the victim standing on the rear porch. Brown was extremely agitated and belligerent. He kept saying the victim kicked him and tried to give him a seizure.

The victim told police that a witness was boxing up her belongings and planned on leaving Brown. The victim said this upset Brown and an argument began. The victim said Brown told them “I’m going to kill you” while he was on the phone with 911 at the time. The victim said nothing physical happened.

Brown told police he went to bed and woke up to someone trying to knock a door in. Brown said the victim kicked his foot through the door and hit Brown in the head, causing him pain and that he feared having a seizure.

Police noticed a door was broken and photographed the room and door. Police arrested Brown and transported him to the Brown County Jail. Police listened to the 911 call and heard Brown threaten the victim. Police recorded the entire interaction with everyone on a K9 Squad Watch Guard system. Police answered numerous calls between the victim, witness and Brown over the last few weeks.
