Laurie Hammerschmidt, left, chairperson of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Sleepy Eye’s Pumpkin Patch Palooza 2020 presents Teresa Grams from the Brown County Humane Society a check for $4703.45 from the proceeds of their event this year on Oct. 3 in Sleepy Eye. This was the largest amount attained in five years of hosting this event. Each year St. John’s selects an organization to be the beneficiary of the proceeds they raise hoping to give back to our community, help some of these organizations achieve their goals and spread a bit of God’s love along the way.
