Halloween Community Treat Night at New Ulm American Legion

NEW ULM — The New Ulm Sons of the American Legion will again hold their annual Halloween Community Treat Night at the American Legion Club rooms at 13 South Minnesota St. in New Ulm, from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 31.

Children will receive a chance for a door prize, free candy bag with an assortment of candy, glass of juice, a coloring book and crayons, and a place to sit, rest, or warm up for a couple minutes as they make their rounds on Halloween night.

Parking attendants will also be outside to assist with the traffic by the Legion.

The event is for kids age 15 and under, with a special emphasis on children 11 and under. Come down in costumes, and make the New Ulm Legion a part of your Trick or Treat route!

The event is sponsored by the New Ulm Sons of the American Legion, and co-sponsored by the American Legion-Post 132, and the Legion Auxiliary, New Ulm Legion Riders, and the Optimist Club of New Ulm.

It has been a annual event since the early 1970’s.

New Ulm Medical Center offering flu shots

NEW ULM — The best way to prevent the flu is to get your flu shot. The New Ulm Medical Center encourages everyone over six months of age to receive the flu shot. It’s especially important for those who live with people who are at high risk for developing flu-related complications.

Annual flu shot clinics are available at New Ulm Medical Center through October, including Saturdays.

SPOTS to perform at UCC on Oct. 30

NEW ULM — Students Performing On Tough Situations will perform on Wednesday, Oct. 20, starting at 7 p.m. in the United Church of Christ, 301 South Minnesota St.

This is a free community event. Students will deliver messages on bullying for ALL ages.

Refreshments and snacks will follow the presentation.

BCHS to hold Beer, Wine gala Nov. 7

NEW ULM — The Brown County Humane Society will hold its annual Wine, Beer & Hors D’oeuvres Gala on Thursday, Nov. 7, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the New Ulm Country Club

A silent auction will be held from 6 to 8 p.m.

An engraved wine glass will be given with the purchase of each ticket

Tickets are $25 in advance, $30 at the door

Entertainment will be provided by Audioworks DJ.

Attendees must be 21 or older.
