Sleepy Eye Lions Club receive Dream Catcher Award

The Sleepy Eye Lions Club Members received their Minnesota Lions Diabetes Foundation “Dream Catcher Award” at their meeting on July 2, at the Railway Bar and Grill. The Sleepy Eye Lions have now donated more than $1,000 to the MLDF to find a Cure for diabetes. Pictured, left to right, are, President Lion Thomas Goetz, Lion Blair Folkens, Lion Dr. Thomas Larson, Lion Arnold Hinderman, Lion John Kolbe, Lion Russell Sorensen, Lion Greg Tennent, Lion Ron Petersen, Lion Mike Petersen and Lion Alan Lang. Lion Bob Schirlinger was speaking at the Sleepy Eye club’s meeting a couple months ago and said Sleepy Eye was short for the Dream Catcher award by $300 or more dollars. The Vice President then, Lion Thomas Goetz asked that the members give a donation to the MLDF to raise the money. The Lions ended up with $160 dollars over that night. Diabetes is a issue that is very important to the club’s members and they like to find a way to help.
