FREE Concert in the Park and Family Night, sponsored by Thrivent; Monday, June 10 from 6-8 p.m. at German Park. Be sure to enjoy Rec on the Go activities, the Moon Bounce, Face painting, Balloon artist, ice cream treats for all and a summer packaging event! Puppet Wagon Show starts at 6:5 p.m., followed by Musical entertainment by the Teddy Bear Band at 7 p.m.!

Puppet Wagon, a summertime favorite starts this week and will be traveling to a park near you! For a full schedule of stops/times, refer to our summer brochure or go to our website at newulmmn.gov and look in the schedules tab.

Rec on Go starts its regular schedule Monday, June 17. This program travels to neighborhood parks or neighborhoods where staff set up activities and equipment for youth and teens. Games, sports, crafts and more! Healthy Snacks are provided to youth 18 and under. Please refer to the Park and Rec Summer Brochure or our website for the weekly schedule. We will make a special stop at New Ulm Mobile Village, 2526 S Bridge Street on Wednesday June 12 from 10:30 a.m.-noon and at Traulich Estates from 12:30-2 p.m.! FREE Yoga in the Park for all ages! Enjoy beautiful summer Saturday mornings in our Parks with relaxed-pace yoga classes that integrate breath work with deliberate muscle elongation, toning and awareness for a greater sense of balance and direction, physically and energetically. No prior yoga experience is required. This class is for all ages and fitness levels and is possible through a Neighborhood Health Connection Grant from Allina Health. Participants are encouraged to bring their own yoga mats, but a limited number will be available for those who need one. Please join us Saturday, June 15 from 9-9:45 a.m. at Hermann Heights Park, 14 Monument Street!

FREE Fishing Clinic will be offered Tuesday, June 18 and Thursday, June 20, however pre-registration is required online or at the Rec Center. This program is designed for one adult with limited fishing knowledge and skills to attend with a child. Those 16 or older will need to purchase a fishing license. Learn the basics of tying hooks, how to use different kinds of rods and reels, apply bait, hook and unhook a fish, and more. This program is co-sponsored by the New Ulm Area Sport Fishermen.

Get to Know Nature Camps that include Geocaching, Canoeing and wildlife are also offered for just $5! Take a look at the options in our summer Activity Brochure and be sure to register soon!

Youth Pickleball Camps will be offered throughout the summer for ages 8-13 at the Lincoln Park Courts, 718 S. State St. The camp will focus on teaching basic rules, etiquette, teamwork, movement and great socialization that comes with playing this unique and addicting sport. Players will be split into groups according to skill and age. A camp will be offered Tuesday, June 18 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Lincoln Park. Register online or at the Rec Center.

Join us for our first Summer Field Trip where we will head to Bounce Town in Mankato Friday, June 21 from 12-3:30 p.m. Trip is offered to youth 8-12, who will have the chance to play, bounce, climb and crawl on the various inflatable slides, jungle gyms and more! Register online or at the Rec Center.

Municipal Band Concerts offered Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m. on June 12, June 19, July 10, July 17 and July 24!

Outdoor Wading Pools are daily from 12:30-6:30 p.m. Children must be with an adult of at least 18. There is NO lifeguard on duty. Air temp must be a minimum of 72 degrees to open and will close for strong winds, heavy downpours or lightening.

Tot Swim is held the first and third Fridays of the month. This is an opportunity to Swim and play with your tot in the shallow part of the pool. Toys provided and tot slide will be open. Whirlpool is closed during this time. Admission is $2.75/tot.

Additional Open Swim times at the Rec Center are offered Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1-4 p.m.

Riverside Environmental Learning Center located in Riverside Park is open Thursdays from 3 to 6 p.m., Saturdays from 2 to 5 p.m. and Sundays from 12 to 3 p.m. or by appointment. Please call Ron at 507-766-5770 to make arrangements for other times.

Open Pickleball at Rec Center Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 1-2:30 p.m. Memberships, Punch cards, cards or Daily Admission apply. Outdoor pickleball courts are open.

Hermann Monument open daily 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Admission $3 per person. Ages 5 and under free with adult.

German Park Amphitheater is in great need of improvement! Fundraising for this project continues. Any size of donation is accepted and greatly appreciated for the community venue. Checks can be made to the City of New Ulm and mailed to the Park and Rec. Dept., 122 S. Garden Street, New Ulm.
