New Ulm’s Own gives to NUMAS Haus

Submitted photo New Ulm’s Own Fair Trade & Art, 212 N. Minnesota, gave NUMAS Haus a $1,000 gift from profit realized in 2018. Since January 2017 New Ulm’s Own has contributed $2,700 to the women’s shelter from sales of fair trade artisan crafted items from developing countries and the sale of local art. Continuing the mission to support marginalized women locally and globally, profit from 2019 will be given to Southern Minnesota Crisis Nursery. Fair trade insures fair and stable wages, safe working conditions, no child labor, opportunity for training and advancement, and funds for community development for thousands of women in impoverished conditions.
