The New Ulm Figure Skating Club presents Heroes on Ice

New Ulm Figure Skating Club members rehearse at the New Ulm Civic Center for the Heroes On Ice show, set for Feb. 25-27 at the civic center.

“Heroes on Ice” will honor hard-working community servants, unsung heroes, veterans, model citizens, and good samaritans (people compassionate and helpful to a person in distress).

At the shows, the New Ulm Figure Skating Club will recognize individuals randomly selected that serve the community. The nominate a hero document link is no longer accepting responses.

Ice show director Katrina Berberich said she is really excited about the show she feels attracts people of all ages and pays tribute to local heroes.

The show includes a number of veteran skaters including New Ulm High School seniors Ashley Harris, Sydney Owens and Tatiana Rolloff.

Several skaters said they became interested in skating from their older sisters.

Harris was one of eight skaters selected as a Minneapolis-St. Paul American Ice Theater Ensemble Skater. She has performed in many ice shows including the Minneapolis Contemporary Skating Showcase.

Harris plans to continue her show skating career after high school.

“I like show performances,” said Harris. “I plan to submit a video for the Disney On Ice that tours the world.”
