Brown County Farm Bureau donates to county food shelves

For the sixth consecutive year, the Brown County Farm Bureau Federation gave monetary donations to the food shelf locations in New Ulm, Sleepy Eye and Springfield.

“It’s been our tradition to visit each food shelf during March – Food Share Month, present our check and take a picture to record the event,” noted Brown County Farm Bureau President, Greg Bartz. “However, coronavirus health concerns necessitated that we mail the checks. The three Brown County food shelf programs have always met a significant need, but the recent COVID-19 situation has certainly increased the demand.”

“These donations reinforce our commitment to area families; we care for those around us. Farmers produce wholesome and affordable food and realize that many people are experiencing challenges in providing nutritious and delicious meals. We are grateful that our area food shelves are able to serve those in difficult financial situations.”
