State Street Theater is very thankful to the 100 guests and volunteers who made “Ville des Lumiere, an evening at the Moulin Rouge Cabaret” on Friday, Feb. 21, a huge success!

Realizing gross profit of $8,400 was made possible by $2,150 in sponsorships and donations to help in offsetting the evening’s expenses — especially three at the $500 level from Gag’s Sheet Metal, Inc; MR Paving; and $500 from Thrivent Financial accessed by Tom and Deb Kaehler; and $250 from SVCarlso. Other donors were Dave and Karrie Borchert, PRO, Charlie and Barb Bornhoft, Fischer Law, Haydn Duncan, and Bob and Sue Gluth; and in-kind donations from Morgan Creek Vineyards and MonaLena Kitchen & Bar.

Appreciation is extended to those who donated live auction events which raised another $2,100: Jodi and Ted Marti who donated a Schell’s Brewery tour for a party of 10, to be followed with appetizers and refreshments; Sue Marti and Carolyn Marti-Smith who donated an August pool party for 10 featuring snacks, pizza and refreshments; Kathleen Backer, who donated a sneak preview social hour for 10 at the “Junique Center,” the former St. Peter’s Church, including snacks and refreshments as well; and Jeff and Michele of Sozial who also donated a social hour for a party of 10 featuring wine and some special culinary appetizers. Joe Maidl is thanked for his expert auctioneering skills, eliciting great bidding and, as well, thanks to those who purchased the offerings, making that event a big success. .

As one patron of the event wrote the day following: “We’d like to thank you and all who were involved in making last night a truly magical and memorable evening. From the decorations, to the costumes, the music, the food, it was a wonderful experience. Again, to all who were involved, congratulations on a spectacular event. All our friends are hoping that they can return next year.”

Funds raised through ticket sales and other activities were made possible through volunteers like Derek Shaver and Drew Aufderheide, bartenders; Lori Mathiowetz, Misty DeLeo, Rebecca DeMarias, and Dana Shaver, along with committee members: Richard Tostenson, Jodi Marti, Jan DeLeo, Donna Wing and Mary Ellen Domeier, assisted by Carolyn Borgen and Alexander Roth. Proceeds help the State Street Theater in carrying out its mission as steward of this historic site on behalf of the regional community.
