Goosetown

The organizers of the Sept. 14, Gemuetlichkeit in Goosetown Event would like to thank all who made it a BIG success.

Annelise Robinsen for face painting; Susan Haar for helping with the surveys and free drawing registration; Musical entertainment, Richard Schwartz, Smiley Wiltscheck, Adam Munsterman, and Dave Moldan; Juli & Tom Sands for bringing their parrots to meet the public; Rick Lucas for the visit of the 3 roving tortoise friends; Pat Woratschka, plus Ron’s right-hand-man, Tanner Kistner, who helped curator, Ron Bolduan, with tours of the Environmental & Learning Center and several other younger helpers; SFC Cameron Jeske, National Guard who brought the games for children; Pegeen Rozeske and Mike Heurkamp for shoe making demonstration;

Dr. Ellen Vancura and Brenda Longworth for the buckthorn removal learning booth; Deb Steinberg and Dena Sievert, Pollinator Park volunteers, who helped the visitors tag and release the Monarch butterflies; Lori and Chad Wengert for their land stewardship games for children to play; Jeff Wendinger and Savanna Eklund for their help with the Dog Park exhibit;

Plus, Cindy and Brian Borth who helped the gnomes, Gertie Goose, three Morel Mushrooms walk around the grounds, the appearance of Hermann on the Hill (Bryce Boelter) and his lederhosen friend, Braxton; In addition, thanks to Jack Stone of Stone Harbor Wilderness Supply Rental for bringing kayaks and canoes for demonstration.

Special thanks to Alex Netzke, the animated, raccoon character who played with the children; April Miller, the volunteer program announcer, and Tyleen Miller who organized the bake sale; Danke Schoen to Dave Stolt, creator of original 2019 Goosetown shirts, made to order and sold on site, with the help of Margaret, Sara and Mike; Scott Sparlin for supplying sound system for musicians; Bill Miller, Tom Schwartz and others for helping with set-up and tear down of the equipment used that day, AND free 1919 root beer donated by Arneson Distributing Co.

Plus all who donated free drawing gift certificates, Domeier’s German Store, Valley Veggies and the New Ulm Community Market & Cooperative; And lastly, a great BIG thank you to all City Park & Recreation employees who helped in preparing Riverside Park for the event.
