Should Local Team Win from Cannon Falls, They Will Be in State Finals, as They Will Draw Bye.

Everybody in New Ulm, who had the interest of the public schools at heart, had their fingers crossed last evening for the debating team of the local high school. Howard Vogel, Elizabeth Hintz and Clarence Rolloff are members of the team and were pitted against the Cannon Falls debating team last evening in an elimination for the state finals, which will occur later in Minneapolis.

It will be remembered that New Ulm won from Waseca in a recent elimination. The five teams in New Ulm’s class at present are Cannon Falls, Duluth Central High, Glen-wood and Cass Lake. Duluth Central High and Glenwood are pitted against each other and Cass Lake has the bye.

If New Ulm won last evening she will be in the state finals at Minneapolis, as she will have the bye in the next series. The winner of the Duluth Central High and Glenwood contest will debate Cass Lake for the elimination before the final.

Debate at High School.

The debate occurred last evening at the High school assembly room, and commenced at eight o’clock.
