Kevin and Chris Bruns of rural Lafayette announce the engagement of their daughter, Heidi Rose Bruns, to Kyle Curtis Cumberland, son of the late Curtis Cumberland.

Heidi is a 2004 graduate of GFW High School, a 2009 graduate of Iowa State University, and a 2011 graudate of South Dakota State University. She is employed as an analyst at 3M in New Ulm.

Kyle is a graduate of Waterville, Elysian, Morristown High School and attended Alexandria Vo-Tech. He is employed as a technician at 3M in New Ulm.

An Oct. 1 wedding is planned.
