Brian and Linda Horvath of Proctor, and Tom and Pam Schafer of Springfield announce the engagement of their children, Laynie Horvath and Christopher Schafer.

Laynie is a 2010 graduate of Proctor High School and is employed in the Patient Access Department with Essentia Health in Duluth.

Christopher is a 2006 graduate of Springfield High School and is employed as a Deputy Sherriff with St. Louis County.

An outdoor wedding is planned on Sept. 11 on Spirit Mountain in Duluth.
