Athlete of the Week • March 3-9 • Jack Raymond, NUHS

Jack Raymond

Sr. New Ulm

• Raymond and the Eagles made it to the Class A state tournament, where they went 0-2. Despite the losses, Raymond kept his team in both games, making spectacular saves in both games.

• In the first game against Mahtomedi, Raymond kept the Eagles in the game early on. He stopped the first 23 shots he saw and finished the game with 49 saves. Against Delano in the consolation, Raymond was sharp again, finishing with 21 saves.

Earlier this year, Raymond broke the school record for career saves at New Ulm High School. He said it was a good season for the Eagles and it was an honor to represent New Ulm at the State Tournament.

“It’s an honor for our town and just for the guys,” Raymond said. “Our town takes hockey pretty seriously so it was pretty awesome that we could get back up here.”
