Tomahawk Conference girls’ team chosen, Mathiowetz named Tomahawk Conference Player of the Year
This year’s Tomahawk All-Conference team has been announced, with Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s and Wabasso leading the way with three team members each.
For St. Mary’s, freshman Madison Mathiowetz, junior Sydney Windschitl and senior Cassie Heinrichs were selected to the team. Mathiowetz was also named the conference’s Player of the Year.
For Wabasso, seniors Madison Guetter and Jenna Frank were selected, along with junior Alison Fenger.
Minnesota Valley Lutheran’s junior forward Emma Nelson was chosen to the team, while Sleepy Eye had senior Madi Krueger selected. Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop had senior Miah Busse selected, while Springfield saw junior Sydney Hauger make the team. Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart had junior Sara Kottke selected.
MVL also had two honorable mentions in Lauren Paulsen and Abbie Riederer, while New Ulm Cathedral’s Heidi Hoffman also earned an honorable mention. Springfield’s MacKenzie Lothert, GFW’s Grace Swenson, Wabasso’s Sarah Franta and Sleepy Eye’s Brittney Dittbenner also were named honorable mentions.
Wabasso’s Neil Dolan earned Coach of the Year honors.
