Tigers pick up 2 victories

COURTLAND — The Springfield Tigers picked up a 7-1 win over the Courtland Cubs on Sunday in Tomahawk East League amateur baseball action.

Carter Erickson got the win for the Tigers, pitching eight innings and allowing four hits and a walk. He struck out five.

Gavin Nourie took the loss in eight innings for the Cubs, allowing seven hits and two earned runs with two strikeouts.

Springfield was led by Branden Flock and Matt Vogel, who each went 2 for 4 with an RBI. Courtland was led by Dusty Plaisance, who was 2 for 2.

Also on Saturday, Springfield defeated the Gibbon Reds 4-3. Alex Fink got the win, while Nolan Huiras took the loss. Sam Van Hon hit a home run for the Reds.
