New Ulm wrestling team takes 4th at Glencoe tournament, St.Mary’s girls top BLHS
GLENCOE — The New Ulm Area wrestling team took fourth out of 10 teams on Saturday at the Glencoe Individual Tournament.
First place finishers were Jackson Bode at 113 pounds, Hunter Ranweiler at 152 pounds and Colby Wenninger at 285 pounds. Sean Howk finished in second place at 145 pounds.
Finishing in third place was Cole Ranweiler at 138 pounds, while Carter Brandes (106), Nick Syverson (120), Tanner Stark (160) and Lane Miller (170) each finished fourth.
John Mehlhop took fifth place at 132 pounds.
St. Mary’s girls 77,
SLEEPY EYE — Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s improved to 5-0 on the year and 2-0 in the Tomahawk Conference with a 77-40 win against Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart on Monday.
Sydney Windschitl scored 20 points for the Knights and Madison Mathiowetz scored 14. Jody Hansen had 10 points, 12 steals and eight assists and Cassie Heinrichs had 11 points and seven rebounds.
For BLHS, Keegan Hanson had 11 points and Sarah Kottke had 10 points.
St. Mary’s hosts Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop on Friday.
