Hillesheim scores 5 TDs as CM/C crushes West Lutheran

MORGAN — Cedar Mountain/Comfrey blanked West Lutheran on Wednesday in a 9-man South District football game.

Eli Samuelson was 6-for-12 passing for 147 yards and four touchdowns. Dylan Hillesheim had 3 receptions for 74 yards for three touchdowns. Hillesheim added three punt returns for 122 yards and two touchdowns.

CM/C awaits an opponent at a location to be determined.

NYA 34, GFW 18

WINTHROP — Norwood-Young American defeated Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop on Wednesday in a South Central District football game.

McKray Schmidt had a 1-yard run for GFW. Jancarlo Munoz added a 16-yard run and Evan Martin threw at 12-yard touchdown pass to Zach Weber.

GFW (0-8) will play next in the Section 3AA tournament against an opponent and location to be determined.

Kenyon-Wanamingo 34,

MVL 16

KENYON — Kenyon-Wanamingo defeated Minnesota Valley Lutheran on Wednesday in a Mid-Southeastern District football game.

Jake Kettner returned an interception 32 yards for a touchdown. Matt Munsen tossed a 15-yard touchdown pass to Jacob Kiecker.

MVL (0-8) will participate in the section tournament to be determined.

Sleepy Eye 52, Lakeview 18

SLEEPY EYE — Landon Strong rushed for 203 yards and scored four touchdowns to help Sleepy Eye defeat Lakeview on Wednesday in a Southwest District football contest.

Jacob Berg had 101 yards rushing and a 60-yard kick-off return for two touchdowns. Berg’s other touchdown came on a run. Nathan Wolter returned an interception 30 yards for a touchdown.

Sleepy Eye (3-5) will face an opponent to be determined.

Nicollet 36, BLHS 21

HECTOR — Nicollet downed Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart on Wednesday in a 9-man South District football game.

Ean Thomsen completed 16 of 28 passes for 271 yards and four touchdowns. He rushed 16 times for 87 yards. Josh Chadderdon had four receptions for 81 yards and two touchdowns. Anthony Macias added four receptions for 67 yards and one touchdown.

Avery Northquest had 16 tackles, Tory Nelson added 10 tackles with a sack and Cooper Martens added seven tackles and a sack.

Nicollet (5-3) awaits its next opponent in the section playoffs to be determined.

Madelia 56, GH/EC/T 22

TRUMAN — Madelia crushed Granada-Huntley/East Chain/Truman on Wednesday in a 9-man South District football game.

Logan Anderson was 7 for 7 passing for 173 yards and a touchdown. Anderson had 22 carries for 173 yards and three rushing touchdowns. Josh Sletta rushed 19 times for 167 yards and three touchdowns. Luke Hennis had a 3-yard touchdown run.

Madelia amassed 605 total yards offensively with 432 yards on the ground and 173 yards through the air.

Madelia (3-5) will face an opponent to be determined in the section playoffs.
