New Ulm Brewers cruise in Tuesday night victory
NEW ULM – Andrew Peters banged out three hits including his first home run in amateur baseball as the New Ulm Brewers topped LeSueur 16-7 Tuesday night in a non-league game at Johnson Park.
Jordan Fischer got the win for the Brewers. He was the second of four pitchers used by New Ulm in the game.
J.T. Hoffmann, Eric Austvold, Zach More and Nick Fischer each had two hits for the Brewers.
New Ulm trailed 7-2 after three innings as they were out-hit 6-0 in that span but both teams combined for 15 walks and two hit batsman in that span.
The Brewers, who open the Tomahawk East League playoffs at home Friday when they host Gibbon, scored four runs in both the third and fourth innings.
New Ulm then added four insurance runs in the bottom of the eighth.
