Fink, Pendleton, Fischer lead All-Journal team

FIRST TEAM

Isaac Fink, so., G, Springfield

Fink had a big season in helping lead the Tigers to a fourth-place finish at state, earning a spot on the All-Tournament team. He averaged 22.5 points, 8.7 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 3.4 steals per game as a sophomore, scoring a grand total of 743 points in being named the Tomahawk Conference Player of the Year. For his career, the three-year starter and three-time All-Conference selection became the boys’ all-time leading scorer with 1,685 career points and has also amassed 600 rebounds, 448 assists and 255 steals with two more seasons to play.

Derek Pendleton, sr., G, CM/C

Pendleton had a standout year for the Section 2A, North Subsection champion Cougars, averaging 17 points, 6 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game. He also shot 54 percent from the floor and 40 percent from 3-point range. He was a unanimous All-Conference selection.

Nick Fischer, sr., F, MVL

Fischer had a standout year for the Chargers, averaging 19.6 points and 11.9 rebounds per game. The two-time All-Conference selection finishes his career with 1,227 career points (No. 7 all time in school history) as well as 738 total rebounds (fourth all time in school history). He also set a school record for offensive rebounds in a game with 13.

Kale Meendering, sr., G, Springfield

Meendering made quite the impact for the Tigers in helping them to a fourth-place finish at state. Meendering averaged 15.3 points and 11.5 rebounds per game this season. The two-time All-Conference selection finishes his career with 1,251 points and 458 rebounds.

Connor Foley, jr., F, New Ulm

Foley led the Eagles, averaging 19 points per game as well as 7.9 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game.

SECOND TEAM

Dylan Hillesheim, jr., G, CM/C

Hillesheim made an impact for the Section 2A, North Subsection champion Cougars, averaging 17 points, 6.4 rebounds and 2.7 steals per game. He surpassed 1,000 career points this year and was named a unanimous All-Conference selection.

Tanner Vogel, jr., G,

Springfield

Vogel was a key player in helping Springfield to a fourth-place finish at state this year. The three-year starter averaged 14.5 points and 4.0 assists per game this year. For his career, Vogel has amassed 1,323 points, 379 rebounds and 266 assists with one more season to play.

Nathan Hauser, jr., G,

Cathedral

Hauser had a big year for Cathedral, averaging 18.4 points per game in scoring 514 points, which ranks No. 4 in regular-season school history. He shot 52 percent from the field and 50 percent from 3-point range. The unanimous All-Conference selection has scored 738 points for his career with one more season to play.

Wambde Diaz, jr., G, CM/C

Diaz came into his own for the Section 2A, North Subsection champion Cougars, averaging 14 points, 8 rebounds, 5.4 assists and 3.1 steals per game. The All-Conference selection recorded four triple-doubles this season and hauled in 32 rebounds in a game, which ranks No. 9 overall in state history.

Riley Hulke, fr., G,

Nicollet

Hulke had a breakout year for the Raiders, averaging 18.4 points, 8.9 assists and 3.8 steals per game. He also shot 50 percent from the field and 40 percent from 3-point range. He set a school record with 113 3-pointers this year and his 239 assists and 102 steals are also in the top-3 in school history for a single season.

THIRD TEAM

Jake Kettner, so., G, MVL

Kettner was a key player for MVL, averaging 15.7 points, 5 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.1 steals per game as a sophomore. The unanimous All-Conference selection has amassed 639 points, 197 rebounds, 129 assists and 96 steals for his career with two seasons to play.

Trevor Pederson, sr., C, RRC

Pederson helped lead the Falcons to an undefeated conference season, averaging 14.3 points and 7.9 rebounds per game. For his career, he finishes with 1,093 points and 702 rebounds.

Ean Thomsen, jr., G, Nicollet

Thomsen averaged 19.9 points, 5.1 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game for the Raiders while shooting 54 percent from the floor.

Cooper Yackley, sr., G, New Ulm

Yackley averaged 13.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.8 steals per game for the Eagles this year.

Eli Samuelson, so., G, CM/C

Samuelson was a key contributor for the Cougars, who won the North Subsection in Section 2A. He averaged 13 points and 4.8 rebounds per game in earning an All-Conference honorable mention.
