Longtin places 27th at state
MINNEAPOLIS — New Ulm junior Sarah Longtin placed 27th overall on balance beam at the state gymnastics meet on Saturday at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.
Longtin scored an 8.25 in her first-ever appearance at state.
“She stuck her beam routine,” first-year coach Kortney Peterson said. “For it being the state meet, judging was really tough and there were some really good athletes. So getting an 8.25 at a big meet today was probably good. It wasn’t her highest, but she had a really good routine.
“She stuck and she did everything that she needed to do.”
