St. Olaf tops MLC in volleyball

NORTHFIELD – The Martin Luther College volleyball team lost 22-25, 25-19, 25-23, 25-23 at St. Olaf on Monday in non-conference action.

The Knights opened the match with a 25-22 first-set win, but were unable to take that momentum into the second set.

Jade St. Germaine led MLC with 13 kills, while Kira Grev and Grace Schultz added 11 and six kills, respectively.

Emily Neeb led the team with 13 digs, and Emily Byhardt finished with a team-best 24 assists to go with ten digs.

MLC fell to 9-15 on the season in defeat. The Knights will return to action on Friday when they travel to UW-Eau Claire for a two-day tournament. MLC will face off against UW-River Falls and St. Thomas on Friday.
