GFW 3, Cathedral 0

WINTHROP – Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop swept New Ulm Cathedral 25-21, 25-19, 25-21 on Tuesday in a Tomahawk Conference volleyball match.

For GFW, Jennifer Palmer had 19 set assists and 13 digs. Megan Palmer added 18 digs and Keegan Hanson had 16 digs. Katelynn Firle had seven kills.

GFW (8-6) will participate in the Southwest Minnesota State University Tournament on Friday. Cathedral will host Wabasso on Thursday.

Wabasso 3, St. Mary’s 0

WABASSO – Wabasso defeated Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s 25-23, 25-16, 25-18 in a Tomahawk Conference volleyball game on Tuesday night.

Emily Hoffman was 15-for-15 serving and had three blocks for the Rabbits. Lainy Rohlik was 12-for-12 with an ace, nine digs, and 30 assists. Maddy Guetter led the offense with 19 kills and 12 digs. Alison Benz also had 16 digs and four blocks and Jenna Frank had 10 digs, four kills and three blocks.

Wabasso (17-6, 4-1) plays at 7 p.m. on Thursday at New Ulm Cathedral.

Springfield 3, BLHS 0

HECTOR – Springfield defeated Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart 25-22, 26-24, 25-21 on Tuesday in a Tomahawk Conference volleyball match.

Maddy Ehlers had 10 set assists and 10 digs for BLHS. Keighly Daak added 19 digs, Cassie Hettinger had six kills and Jacxl Fernandez added 11 digs.

For Springfield, Vishe Rabb had 13 digs, 10 kills and one block. Alyssa Streich had 11 kills and Callie Wersal had 34 set assists. Kenna Wahl had 13 digs

BLHS will play at Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop on Thursday and Springfield will participate in the Subway Classic Tournament on Friday.

Alden-Conger 3,

Madelia 0

ALDEN – Alden-Conger defeated Madelia 25-17, 25-21, 25-11 in a Valley Conference volleyball game on Tuesday night.

Madelia was led by Lizzie Cooling with six digs and 28 set assists, Briana Ardolf who was 10-for-10 serving with seven digs and Stef Sotelo who was 9-for-9 serving with an ace and seven digs.

Madelia hosts Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Nicollet 3, JWP 0

JANESVILLE – Nicollet downed Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton 25-19, 25-14, 25-14 on Tuesday in Valley Conference volleyball action.

Nicole Hall had 30 set assists for Nicollet. Lindsey Boerger had 10 digs and 11 kills while Natasha Young added 13 kills

Nicollet (11-9, 4-2) will play at Minnesota Valley Lutheran on Monday.

RRC 3, MCC 1

LAMBERTON – Red Rock Central defeated Murray County Central 25-16, 23-25, 25-21, 27-25 in Red Rock Conference volleyball on Tuesday.

Rachel Kedl led the Falcons with 18 kills and Ramsey Piotter finished with 14 kills. Kedl also had 20 digs and Kennedi Janssen had 17 set assists.

Girl’s tennis

New Prague 7, New Ulm 0

NEW PRAGUE – New Prague swept New Ulm 7-0 in Section 2AA girl’s tennis action on Tuesday.

At first singles for New Ulm, Taylor Bolduan lost 6-3, 6-2 and Rose Dobie lost 6-0, 6-4 at second singles. Sara Guymon lost 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3 singles and Emma Maudal lost 7-5, 6-4 at No. 4 singles.

In doubles action, Meleah Reinhart and Jane Arnoldt lost 7-5, 7-6 (7-4) at first doubles and Breanna Widmer and Shelby Haseman lost 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2 doubles. Abbey Frauenholtz and Katia Ostermann lost 6-2, 6-3 at No. 3 doubles for the Eagles.
