And lets face it, he imposed a "fee" on cigarettes. I don't have a problem with that, but let's call a spade a spade. It was a tax, so therefore he DID raise taxes. He should have just come out and been honest about it. He also passed costs down to the local level by cutting LGA at the same time that health insurance premiums and utilities skyrocketed. Then, he has the nerve to say that local governments need to learn to tighten their belts. How? Put the city and county workers on Minnesota Care? Turn the heat off in our public buildings? He needs to be realistic, and I just don't think he is capable of that.

I just wish our governor would get back to doing the job he was elected to do. Instead of flying all over the country and being on all of the Sunday morning TV shows. And for him talking about how he has kept taxes at the same level it's the biggest lie of all time as it's just been passed on to everyone of our property taxes. This state is in worse condition than it was when he was first elected. That does not get my vote for president.

Hmmmm...I dunnoh, Shadow. The thing about Marty Seifert is that at least he wouldn't be involved in any sex scandal, would he? I mean, he's a Republican, so...uh...er...gosh, this just isn't making any sense, is it.

Ultimately, I'd like to see Al Frankin in the White House--the first Jewish comedian. Why not? We've already had Episcopalian comedians, and Presbyterian comedians, and Baptist comedians. But I'm not sure about Lutheran comedians. I think that is a contradiction of terms.

Lets see, he took a budget surplus, then turned it into a HUGE deficit, all while passing the buck to the local government which had no choice but to raise our property taxes. He screwed up the Department of Labor and Industry as well as the State Board of Electricity by placing Steve Svigum (sp?) in charge, then he wouldn't release his Lieutenant Governor of her duties as chairwoman of the DOT when she proved to be overly incompetent in that position after the 35W bridge collapse. He doesn't work well with others. His office bullies former governors (Arnie Carlson) Lets see, if you want more partisan politics in Washington, then Governor Pawlenty is your man. If you want big business taxes to go down while your local taxes go up any more, then the governor will cost you "PawLENTY" as president.

I'm not sure. Has he had any sizzling affairs? Smoked dope as a student? Risked his life in the Mekong Delta? Organized any community affairs? (See first question.) Gone to Harvard or Yale? Been drunk half his life? These are the kind of qualifications a presidential candidate needs, and I'm not sure Ol' Tim the Min Gov has the right kind of stuff.
