Having double digit percentage property tax increases is absurd. If anything property values have decreased the past 2-3 years and will continue to do so until our economy rebounds from the "over-spending years". Are we going to get a decrease in the assessed value of our property? Not likey.

I think we have seen that tax refunds are not the answer, if we had not received those refunds 8-9 years ago, we would be in a lot better situation.

California has a property tax cap as long as you own the property, the property taxes are the same. It is adjusted at time of sale for the new owners. I think it is known as prop 13.
