11 Stars Who've Gone the Distance

11 Stars Who've Gone the Distance
Eleven big-name celebrities who embraced their athletic side and took to the races.

Ryan Reynolds

On November 2, 2008, the Wolverine co-star ran the New York City marathon on behalf of the Michael J. Fox Foundation, with a final time of 3:50:22. Wife Scarlett Johansson cheered him on.

Jennifer Lopez
The new mom and multi-talented star added athlete to her resume when she competed in 2008's Nautica Malibu Triathlon. She finished with a time of 2 hours and 23 minutes; not bad for someone who gave birth to twins just seven months prior.

Eliza Dushku
J.Lo wasn't the only celebrity to enter 2008's Nautica Malibu Triathlon. In fact, Dushku, the star of the FOX drama Dollhouse, came in ahead of Lopez with a time of 2 hours and 22 minutes.

Gordon Ramsey
When he's not berating the contestants on Hell's Kitchen, Ramsay can be found punishing the pavement in the London Marathon. He finished 2008's race with a respectable time of 3 hours 19 minutes.

Katie Holmes
Mrs. Tom Cruise laced up her running shoes and took to the boroughs in the 2007 New York City Marathon, crossing the finish line at 5 hours and 30 minutes.

Oprah Winfrey
The iconic talk show host practically invented the notion of celebrity marathon participation when she competed in the Marine Corps Marathon back in 1994. She finished with a time of 4 hours and 29 minutes.

Will Ferrell
Funnyman Ferrell laughed all the way to the finish line in 2003. He completed the Boston Marathon in 3 hours and 56 minutes.

Mario Lopez
The former Saved by the Bell star showed his supportive side when he ran the Boston Marathon with then-girlfriend Ali Landry back in 2002. The hunky Broadway actor and TV host crossed the finish line after 5 hours 42 minutes.

Sean 'P. Diddy' Combs
Proving once again that he can accomplish anything he sets his mind to, the rapper and media mogul finished the 2003 New York City Marathon with a time of 4 hours and 15 minutes.

George W. Bush
Likely the only president to have ever successfully completed a marathon, Bush ran the Houston Marathon in 1993. He finished with a time of 3 hours and 45 minutes.

Lance Armstrong
After seven Tour de France wins, Armstrong took to the streets of New York City, competing in two New York City Marathons. In 2007, he bested his previous time (3 hours in 2006) with 2 hours and 47 minutes.
