NEW ULM - Mary Kay "Mickey" Wingen, 80, of New Ulm died Monday, August 11, 2014 at the home of her sister in Rapid City, S.D.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday, August 18, 2014 at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm with Monsignor John A. Richter celebrating the Mass.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Sunday and 7:30-10:30 a.m. Monday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home, NORTH CHAPEL, in New Ulm. There will be a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. To leave a onlince condolence for her family or to sign the guestbook go to: www.mvfh.org

Mary is survived by her children, Bill and Peggy Wingen of Spencer, Iowa, Tom and Robin Huber of New Ulm, Ronald and Satomi Huber of Hawaii; step children, Monte Wingen of Sioux Falls, S.D., Mary (Jim) Dahl of Milbank, S.D., Bruce (Susie) Wingen of Thornton, Col., Linda (Don) Erlenbusch of Aberdeen, S.D., Pat (Theresa) Wingen of Vermillion, S.D.; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister Luanne (Dale) Russell of Rapid City, S.D.; brothers, Jim (Pat) Litzen of Spokane, WA, John (LaDonna) Litzen of Tolstoy, S.D., Dick (Barb) Litzen of Olathe, Kan. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ernest Wingen on Dec. 31, 2011; and a brother, Ronald Litzen.

Mary Kay Litzen was born on July 30, 1934 in Tolstoy, S.D. to Peter and Claudia (Sons) Litzen. On Jan. 10, 1974 she married Ernest Wingen in Aberdeen, S.D. In 1984 they built a Super 8 Motel in Blue Earth and ran it until 1994 when they retired to Spirit Lake, Iowa. Mickey was the master decorator of the motel's furnishings, wall paintings, and dcor. She had great flair for fashion and a love of Bling. She will be greatly missed.
