To the editor:
A direct quote on page 3A of Wednesday's Journal from the article on diocesan sex abuse is very disturbing.
It is as follows: "If you or someone you know has been sexually exploited by a member of the clergy, and you need to talk with someone about abuse, exploitation, or harassment, please contact the Diocese of New Ulm Victim Assistance Coordinator, or the Bishop's Delegate in Matters Pertaining to Sexual Misconduct by Clergy, etc..." PLEASE do not do this. It is faulty advice.
If you or someone you know has been sexually exploited by a member of the clergy or anyone else, please contact the New Ulm Police Department or your local law enforcement agency immediately. This is a law enforcement matter.
