SEARLES - The Searles Bullheads hosted the Jordan Millers last Saturday and came away with a 1-0 victory in over-35 baseball.
Kevin Hulke earned the win as he pitched all seven innings, scattered seven hits, struck out two and walked none. Jordan got runners to third base in each of the third, fifth and sixth innings, but were unable to score. Both of Hulke's strikeouts came in the top of the seventh inning.
Meanwhile, the Bullheads scored their only run in the bottom of the first inning. Troy Kamm led off with base on balls. Kamm stole second and third base. On his steal of third base the catcher's throw got by the third baseman and Kamm scored.
In the fourth inning, the Bullheads got singles from Brian Sieve and Hulke but they were left stranded. Later in the sixth inning, Searles loaded the bases with a hit, an error, and a walk, but a fly ball and a ground out ended the inning without any runs. Searles had four hits in the game.
The Bullheads (6-7) have three regular season games left, all at home in Searles. At 5 p.m. on Sunday, the Bullheads host the St. Louis Park Cardinals.
The final two games, both rescheduled make-up games, will be played on Saturday, Aug. 9. The Bullheads play the Waconia Islanders at 2 p.m. and then take on the New Hope Bandits at 4:30 p.m.
