To the editor:
To The New Ulm City Council,
The context of this letter is to address the problem of the holding pond on the 700 North block of Garden St.
We have no problem with the holding pond in this block when it is dry weather, but when we have a heavy rain it can become a problem. When it was first built it was fine but through progress and their infinite wisdom they have reduced it to a third of the size it was. After the heavy rain we had last week the 700 block all had water in their basements and lost many belongings. This was due to the fact that the holding pond has been reduced in size too much and the drain on 5th north is plugged with debris runoff and grass clippings and not checked as often as it should be. It is time that the city does more research into some of the things they decide on.
