Our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed on to glory at home in peace. All of her family had recently been to see her and she remained loving and happy to see her family right to the end. She is survived by four children and spouses: Thomas Forsberg and Delores Kotschwar of Indiana, Anne Hayes and Mike Smith of Washington, John and Joanne Forsberg of Minnesota, and Eve and Billy Hustace of California; nine grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two aunts and an uncle. She was preceded in death by her husband Archie Forsberg and her brother, Richard Nelson.

Muriel was born to Oscar and Sadie Nelson in rural Minnesota. She grew up through the Depression on their farm in rural Minnesota and graduated from New Ulm High School. She spent WWII as a "Rosie the Riveter" in Chicago, installing the last "off" switch on airplane bombs. She married Archie Forsberg in 1945 when he returned from service in World War II in the US Army. In 1952, they moved to a farm near Heron Lake/Windom, MN, where Archie and Art Hyde operated a joint venture called Wilder Farms. In 1968, they moved to a farm they purchased near Winthrop, MN. Archie died in 1989. Muriel moved to San Leandro, CA in 1997. Archie and Muriel enjoyed traveling, visiting all 50 states, and six continents. She loved her family, her church family, and was a good friend.

The family is going to have a memorial service for Muriel at the First Lutheran Church in Winthrop, MN on August 9, 2014. Please send condolences to: Thomas Forsberg, 2746 Still Creek Dr., Zionsville, IN 46077.
