NEW ULM - Boy Scout Troop 25 honored five new Eagle Scouts on Sunday, at the First United Methodist Church.
Justin Brunner, Alex Guggisberg, Ian Kimmel, Neil Lindquist and Kelton Schmitz earned the highest rank awarded to Boy Scouts.
To become an Eagle Scout, it is necessary to earn 21 merit badges and complete a service project for the community.

Five members of the New Ulm Boy Scout Troop 25 were honored Sunday at a Court of Honor ceremony at First United Methodist Church for reaching the rank of Eagle Scout. They are, from left, Ian Kimmel, Alex Guggisberg, Justin Brunner, Kelton Schmitz and Neil Lindquist.
Brunner's project was the restoration of the old amphitheater at Hermann Heights and Harman city park hillside. Guggisberg designed and provided leadership to build an outdoor animal exercise structure at Forever Home Animal Sanctuary; Kimmel built 14 benches for New Ulm Park and Recreation; Lindquist planted a grove of maples trees near South Market Park; and Schmitz removed buck thorn from Flandrau State Park.
