WASECA - The New Ulm boys golf team won the South Central Conference golf tournament on Tuesday with a final score of 296. St. James Area finished with a 413. The New Ulm girls finished in fourth place with a score of 423 and St. James Area finished fifth with a 440.
Josh Kummerfeldt of Waseca was the medalist when he carded a 68.
Matt Saffert of New Ulm shot a 73, Ethan Kraus and Kelton Schmitz each scored a 74 and Tanner Zupfer scored a 75.
Tyler Witcraft of St. James Area shot a 97 and John Olsen had a 99
Schmitz was third in the individual All-Conference standings with 89 total season points. Kraus was fourth with 86 points and Saffert finished fifth with 78 points. Zupfer finished 10th with 68 points.
In the All-Conference medalist competition, New Ulm was the team champion with 34 points. St. James Area was sixth with four points
Kim Emily of Fairmont was the girls medalist when she shot a 85.
Corinne McKeeth of New Ulm finished second overall with an 86.
Also for New Ulm, Abbey Frauenholz had a 110, Taylor Syverson shot a 112 and Kendra Clyne shot a 115.
Lyndsey Haler of SJA carded a 97 and Julia Boeve shot a 113.
Kim Emily of Fairmont edged McKeeth for the All-Conference Medalist spot. Emily edged McKeeth based upon her performance on Tuesday.
Boeve finished 10th with 67 total season points on the All Conference Medalist list.
New Ulm's girls finished tied for third in the All-Conference medalist team competition with Fairmont. Each team scored 20 points. St. James Area was fifth with 14 points.
