ST. CLOUD - New Ulm won the St. Cloud Tournament, finishing 2-0 on Saturday and 3-0 in the tournament.
New Ulm defeated Annandale 7-0 in the first game and then defeated Maple Grove 9-8 in the second game.
In the first game, Wyatt Peterson earned the win. He went the distance, striking out seven and walking two. Tanner Kluis was 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs. Jackson Yackley, Grant Kannegiesser and Chase Meyer each had a hit and an RBI.
In the second game, Meyer earned the win in relief. He pitched one innings, allowed three runs and three walks. Bailey Batt was the starter, going four innings and allowing four runs, eight hits and two walks. He struck out three.
Judd Davis and Kannegiesser were each 3-for-4 with an RBI and Jarin Spence was 2-for-2 with an RBI. Tyler Dittrich was 2-for-4 with a double. New Ulm (9-1) hosts Fairmont at 4 p.m. Monday, then travels to St. James for a 7:30 p.m. contest the same night.
