Planning panel approves applications

The Journal

NEW ULM - The Brown County Planning Commission unanimously approved three Conditional Use Permit applications Tuesday in Albin, Milford and Leavenworth townships.

Applications included HCH Dairy, LLP, Section 36, Albin Township, to continue to allow up to 392 animal units (AU) dairy cattle and operation of a 125x279x12-foot earthen basin in the A-1 Agricultural Protection zone. The dairy operation has until Nov. 15 to provide updated manure and soil samples and a corrected Manure Management Plan that reflects the results, because a consulting firm for the operation did not submit paperwork that meets feedlot rules.

Zoning Administrator Laine Sletta said HCH Dairy has until No. 15 to provide the data because manure and soil samples can't be taken now due to the winter weather.

Commissioners approved an application by Jeffrey and Amber Berg in Section 25, Milford Township to move an existing machine repair shop to a new home site and allow use of an existing machine shed for a repair business in the A-1 Agricultural Protection Zone.

Commissioners approved an application by Lyle Heiderscheidt Trucking, LLC, Section 4, Leavenworth Township, allowing a contractor's yard to house equipment and other building/landscaping materials used in agricultural and residential construction by constructing a 90x90-foot shop in the A-1 Agricultural Protection Zone. Heiderscheidt said the shop replaces one that was destroyed by fire.
