NICOLLET - Hildegard Ida Asleson, 89, of Nicollet died Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014 at Monarch Meadows in North Mankato.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 3, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nicollet with Pastor Ron Siemers officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be 1-4 p.m. Sunday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in Nicollet and will continue for one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Monday. To leave an online condolence or to sign the guest book for her family go to www.mvfh.org.

Hildegard is survived by her daughters, Barbara (Michael) Fewer of Novato, Calif., Bonnie (Jim) Lilleodden of Hanska; sons, Roger (Kris) Asleson of North Mankato, Glen (Becky) Asleson of Kasota, Duane (Patty) Asleson of Nicollet; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sisters, Leona Burnett of North Mankato and Delores Gleason of Nicollet; a sister-in-law, Adeline Asleson of St. Peter; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold M. Asleson on May 14, 1990; sisters, Florence Gleason and Arlene Enter; brothers, Wilbert Enter, Milton Enter and twin brothers in infancy.

Hildegard Ida Enter was born on Feb. 1, 1924 in Granby Township, Nicollet County to Walter and Louise (Poehler) Enter. She attended Nicollet Public School in Nicollet. On June 7, 1943, Hildegard was united in marriage to Harold M. Asleson at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nicollet. Hildegard farmed with her husband in Granby Township, Nicollet County from 1945 until retirement in 1977. Hildegard continued to live on the farm after retirement until moving to Monarch Meadows in 2010. She enjoyed gardening, canning, and baking. She was well known for baking and decorating cakes for many people. Hildegard was a lifetime member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nicollet and the Nicollet Legion Auxiliary for 57 years.
