GIBBON - Blanche Bushard, 87, of Gibbon died Thursday, January 23, 2014 at the Winthrop Good Samaritan Center in Winthrop.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 28 at St. Willibrord's Catholic Church in Gibbon with Father Jeff Horejsi celebrating the Mass. Burial will follow at a later date in the St. Willibrord's Catholic Cemetery in Gibbon.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday and 7:30-10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in Gibbon. There will be a parish prayer service at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home on Monday. To leave an online condolence or to sign the guest book for her family go to www.mvfh.org.

Blanche is survived by her husband, Marshall Bushard of Gibbon; daughters, Connie (Donnie) Haas of Gibbon, Colleen (Mike) Bruns of Breckenridge, Debbie (Brian) Fischer of Gibbon; son, Michael (Susan) Bushard of Crosby; grandchildren, Jackie (Mike) Leverson (Haas) of Jordan, Jason (Jennifer) Haas of Gibbon, Wade (Valerie) Haas of Winthrop, Dustin Bruns of Breckenridge, Josh Bruns of Chanhassen, Travis (Sara) Veigel of St. Peter, Paul (Hannah) Bushard of Montrose, Jon Bushard of Carver; sister-in-law, Eunice Lingenhag of San Antonio, Texas; brother-in-law, Charles Tripp of Missouri; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law, James and Eleanor Bushard; son, Bradley Bushard; sisters, Patsy, Alice, Phyllis; and brothers, Charles "Sonny", Jimmy.

Blanche Muriel Lingenhag was born on March 15, 1926 in New Ulm to Charles and Eva (LaPlante) Lingenhag. She attended St. Mary's and graduated from high school in New Ulm. On June 16, 1947, Blanche was united in marriage to Marshall Bushard at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm. Blanche enjoyed bowling, playing cards, fishing, and watching sports, especially the Twins and Gophers. She especially loved spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids. Blanche was a member of St. Willibrord's Catholic Church in Gibbon and the St. Willibrord's Council of Catholic Women.
