Schell’s takes gold at Beverage Testing Institute

January 24, 2014
The Journal

CHICAGO - The August Schell Brewing Co has been awarded a gold medal from the Beverage Testing Institute (BTI) for its 2013 Snowstorm beer.

The recipe for Schell's Snowstorm changes every year. This year's recipe is Schell's interpretation of a Belgian Strong Golden Ale.

Judges from the BTI were especially impressed with this year's recipe, awarding Snowstorm a gold medal, 90 points and an exceptional rating. They described it as "Bright golden yellow color. Aromas of spicy peach souffl and pastry with a subtle, dry-yet-fruity medium body and a long, elegant interplay of chamomile tea, acacia honey, pepper bread and spiced nuts. Delicious and well crafted."
